Which 2019 Kia Soul Trim is the Best for Your Family? The 2019 Kia Soul is here and better than ever. It’s been updated from its 2018 predecessor to give drivers and passengers smooth, comfortable, and reliable rides while enjoying the great Kia Soul style it’s known for.

The 2019 Soul comes in three trim levels: the Soul Base, Soul Plus, and Soul Exclaim. Choosing one can be difficult, so our team at Kia of Vacaville is here to point out the differences between each so you can make the best decision for you and your family.

Power and Performance

The Soul Base gets 130 horsepower from its 1.6-liter I-4 engine. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission but has the option to switch to an electronically controlled six-speed automatic. It gets 24 miles per gallon in the city and 30 on the highway.

The Soul Plus gets 161 horsepower from its 2.0-liter I-4 engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 30 on the highway.

Soul Exclaim rounds off the top with 201 horsepower from a 1.6-liter I-4 turbocharged engine. Its engine is paired with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and gets 26 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway.

Exterior Differences

The exterior of the Soul Base has matte black bumpers and grille accents. The Soul Plus gets body-color bumpers and a grille adorned with chrome and glossy black accents. The Soul Exclaim’s exterior has glossy black bumpers with red accents and a grille with chrome and glossy black highlights. The Exclaim also gets chrome tips on its twin exhaust pipes.

The Exclaim comes standard with mirror-mounted LED turn-signal indicators, and the Plus has the option to upgrade to them. Both the top two trims also have available power-folding mirrors and a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade.

Interior and Entertainment

The Soul Base comes with a 5-inch touchscreen and has the option to upgrade to a Kia’s UVO system with a 7-inch touchscreen, which the Plus and Exclaim come standard with. The top two trims have an available upgrade to an 8-inch UVO touchscreen with premium navigation.

The Plus and Exclaim come standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, which is available on the Base trim.

All three models have steering wheel-mounted audio control buttons and Bluetooth connectivity to connect passengers’ phones to the touchscreen.

The Soul Base has woven and tricot cloth seat trims. The Plus takes out the tricot for premium cloth upholstery. The Exclaim gets black cloth upholstery with leather seat trim and orange contrast stitching.

The Soal Base is the most affordable option of the three trim levels and is cheaper than many base-level models on the market right now. However, it misses out on many of the cool and exciting features that come standard on the Plus and Exclaim.

One of the best parts about the Kia Soul as a whole is its high level of customization. Once you choose a trim level, you can further outfit the Kia Soul to make it the perfect ride for your needs and wants.
