Liven Up Your Drive Time with a 2019 Kia SportageThe 2019 Kia Sportage combines the versatility of a compact SUV with the sporty handling and driving pleasure of a sedan. Three trim levels – LX, EX, and SX – are available with many state-of-the-art features included as standard. And with four-wheel drive available on all models, the Sportage leaves the competition behind.

Interior Space

The Sportage carries five people in comfort as well as having 30.7 cubic feet of cargo space or, with the rear seats folded, 60.1 cubic feet. The 60/40 split reclining and folding rear seats allow you to configure the interior to maximize passenger and cargo capacity. Innovations such as the standard dual-level cargo floor and the available concealed under-floor storage help you to carry all you need.

Performance

The LX and EX models feature a 181 horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 175 pound-feet of torque. For combined city and highway driving, it will return up to 25 mpg. The SX gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine which gives you 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. You’ll get up to 23 mpg for combined driving, and it will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under seven seconds. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Technology

With your convenience in mind, the LX offers remote keyless illuminated entry, while the EX adds approach lights and illuminated door handle pockets. If you find yourself in the cold, the windshield wiper de-icer helps to clear the view. For when your hands are full, SX models feature a hands-free power liftgate, and the push-button start saves you from fumbling for your keys.

When you’re on the road, control is at your fingertips with the steering wheel mounted cruise, audio, and hands-free calling controls. The paddle gear shifters provide quick and smooth gear changes, while the 4.2-inch color cluster display gives you essential driver information.

Entertainment

In the Sportage LX you’ll find a 5-inch touch-screen display, six-speaker audio with CD player and satellite radio, Bluetooth for media streaming and hands-free calling, three 12-volt power outlets, and USB and auxiliary inputs.

The EX offers a 7-inch touch screen, smartphone integration, Kia’s UVO eServices app, and a rear seat USB charging port. SX models add an 8-inch screen and a Harman Kardon eight-speaker, surround sound audio system featuring a 320-watt amplifier.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Advanced handling features include traction control, electronic stability control, and vehicle stability management. Safe stopping is aided by four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, and downhill brake control.

Standard on the LX are cruise control, rear-view camera, automatic headlights, and a tire pressure monitoring system, while the EX adds blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Stepping up to the SX gets you adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert with automatic braking, lane departure alert, front and rear parking sensors, automatic dimming rear-view mirror, automatic high beams, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
