5 Reasons to Love the 2019 Forte - Vacaville, CAKia is already working on the 2019 model of the Kia Forte. Limited information is available about the Forte, but an early look shows that it will be a great addition to the Kia lineup. Here are five reasons to love the 2019 Forte.

New Powertrain and CVT

One of the biggest changes to the Kia Forte is the reworking of the powertrain. Kia is looking to improve the Forte’s fuel efficiency. Aside from other fuel efficient components, Kia added a new CVT to the powertrain. CVTs are well-known for being an efficient transmission alternative, and newer CVTs are able to remain efficient while maintaining the same level of performance as regular transmissions. Not only will you get a more fuel efficient Forte, but you will also get one that performs more like a sports car.

A Stinger Look

Kia recently released one of its highest performance vehicles, the Kia Stinger, and it is easy to see how its design is affecting the Kia Forte. The Forte’s exterior design has been adjusted to look more like the Stinger. A redesigned face and grille along with a body silhouette shift gives the Forte a more aggressive and stable look on the road.

Increased Space

To make the Kia Forte more comfortable and increase the storage space, designers stretched the Forte by nearly four inches. It may not seem like much, but those four inches make a big difference in the amount of legroom and storage made available. Taller drivers will be more comfortable too, as the Kia Forte was also made a bit taller to increase the amount of headroom available.

Reinforcements

With all of the changes to the Kia Forte, safety is another major concern. That is why Kia found a way to make the overall body of the Forte stronger. The new Kia Forte is 54 percent high-strength steel that is bend-resistant to limit the amount of flex in the body of the Forte during impacts. Combined with other safety features like crumple zones and airbags, this Forte is much safer to drive. While crash tests have not yet been completed, Kia and many others expect the Forte to receive good test ratings.

Active Safety Technology

The Kia Forte is also expected to have many of Kia’s new active safety features. These include the blind-spot monitoring system, lane keeping assist, and forward collision avoidance assist systems. It is also expected to have the adaptive cruise control system, which is particularly interesting. It will maintain the set speed, but make adjustments to avoid crashing into cars in your lane. Once a slower car leaves your lane, the cruise control will return to its normal set speed.

The release date for the 2019 Kia Forte has not been confirmed, but it is expected to be out near the end of the year. As Kia finishes the design phase, more details should become available.
