This city has a lot of natural beauty, offering impressive backdrops for your photos.

Lagoon Valley Park

Lagoon Valley Park (also referred to as Pena Adobe) sits on over 470 acres of land, boasting hiking and biking trails throughout the area. If you’re up for a challenge, hike or bike up some of the trails to get unbelievable views of the valley below and natural surroundings. Along with the trails, the park houses a large dog park, archery areas, and a disc golf course. Lagoon Lake is open for non-motorized boating and fishing.

As you make your way around the park, keep an eye out for the famous tree swing. It’s the perfect place to capture a romantic picture for an engagement photo shoot or a fun image of a parent pushing their child on the swing.

Jack Hume Grove

Another beautiful spot to capture images is Jack Hume Grove, a spacious nature park with redwood trees and native plants spread out across all types of hiking and biking paths. It’s somewhat of a local secret, so you won’t see a lot of tourists here. The quiet surroundings and calm serenity make for nice backdrops to your photos.

Rockville Hills Regional Park

Located about 13 miles from Vacaville, Rockville Hills Regional Park is well worth the trip if you’re trying to capture photos of breathtaking natural scenery. With nearly 600 acres of oak woodlands and grasslands, this park has it all. More than 20 different trails wind throughout the park, many of which will take you to lookout points where you can see views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Along with the trails, the park includes a picnic area, a gorgeous small lake, fascinating caves you can explore, and unique rock formations.

Meadowlands Park

Meadowlands Park is an eight-acre park located on Vanden Road in Vacaville. It includes 11 tables for picnicking, along with a few baseball fields, a basketball court, and a playground for kids. If you’re taking family photos, this is a great place to capture action shots, allowing the kids to run around, play, and have a great time. For younger kids, the tot lot is a fun place to explore and play. It’s also a good place for photography of your pets since it has large, open areas where they can run around and fetch. Visit the park in the late afternoon to capture some of the best light, or wait until early evening to snap photos as the sun goes down.
