Excitement is building over the launch of the 2020 Kia Telluride, which is the biggest crossover Kia has built.
Big Brawny and Muscular Shape
The 2020 Telluride from Kia is a full-sized, three-row SUV that will comfortably seat eight people. There is no lack of interior space, as the Telluride may be built on a bigger and wider version of the chassis of its Sorento or K900 siblings. Kia intends to position the vehicle as the flagship of the lineup and offers the all-wheel-drive version powered by a V-6 hybrid engine that generates 400 horsepower. An alternate version could be a 3.3 liter V-6 unit with a natural aspiration to produce 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque.
Impressive Interior
Inside the SUV, there is a feeling of comfort with an interior design that focuses on correct ergonomics. The seating configuration on all trims will be very flexible, and there will be an abundance of storage space and fixtures such as cup holders and USB ports. The luxurious interior is composed of premium quality materials, and there is an equally impressive list of features that can be included. Expect large infotainment touchscreens and a massive panoramic roof.
Kia’s advanced UVO infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Ambient lighting control and remote starting, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity, are also among the list of features. Users can stay informed and entertained from a single intuitive interface that offers hands-free calling and texting, music on demand, roadside assistance, and vehicle diagnostics. The convenience of sending the car’s location to your smartphone becomes invaluable to locate stolen or lost vehicles.
New Design
A new front end design is expected with the 2020 edition that will replace the horizontal headlights with wider and vertically assigned units. The grille is also shorter and much wider. Air intakes are positioned under the headlights to give the vehicle a more inviting look. The rear of the vehicle features vertically aligned taillights and a flat, unadorned vertical surface with only a slight slope of the rear windshield.
Driver Assist Features Available
A full-sized luxury SUV would be considered incomplete without an inclusion of driver assist features. Several will be included in the 2020 Telluride. Pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, and collision detection will be complemented by lane change alerts and emergency auto braking along with a 360-degree view camera.
Telluride Can Compete in SUV Market
SUVs are now the best-sellers in the auto industry. They are no longer considered utilitarian and can include advanced technology with all the bells and whistles. While the reputation of the Kia brand has improved over the last few years, an extension may be anticipated with the 2020 Telluride.
Kia can expect competition from similar vehicles such as the Volkswagen Atlas, Ford Explorer, Chevy Traverse, and Dodge Durango. There are more than enough reasons to assume the Telluride to perform as well as or even better than the competition and should be on the list of those looking for a full-sized SUV.
