2019 Kia Soul EV

The 2019 Kia Soul EV comes with two available trims: EV and EV Plus (+). The base EV comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, LED running lights, keyless ignition and entry, and rear privacy glass. The Plus adds fog lights, a cargo cover, and power-folding mirrors.

As an all-electric zero-emission vehicle, the 2019 Kia Soul EV is entirely electric and gas-free. It's also low maintenance since you won't need to schedule oil changes or tune-ups. Both trims come with a 30-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a 109-horsepower electric motor that produces 210 pound-feet of torque. The result is a smooth, brisk acceleration from the minute you hit the gas. Both trims also come with automatic transmission.

The 2019 Kia Soul EV can travel up to 110 miles on a single charge. Charging times depend upon which type of charger you select. A Level 1 charge, which is 120 volts, takes about 24 hours for a full charge. The Level 2 charge, which is 240 volts, takes around four hours; while the DC fast charge (480 volts) provides 60 to 80 miles for every 30 minutes of charge.

One of the perks of the 2019 Kia Soul EV is its abundance of interior features. Inside the base trim, you will enjoy cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. You also get Kia's newest infotainment system, the UVO 5.0, paired with an 8.0-inch touch-screen display, navigation, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio. The Plus trim has a faux-leather-trimmed dash, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear outboard seats. Exclusive to the Plus trim is the Sun and Fun package, which adds a panoramic sunroof, speaker lights, and LED interior lighting. The Soul EV is one of the few electric cars available that offers a sunroof and cooled seats. You can also use the UVO eco app to set certain functions of your vehicle before you drive. For instance, you can turn on the climate control by selecting climate times, desired temperature, and which days to apply this function. This feature turns on 30 minutes prior to departure. The app can also let you remotely lock or unlock your doors, locate nearby charging stations, and monitor your driving habits.

When it comes to safety, the 2019 Kia Soul EV comes standard with a rearview camera. The Plus trim gives you front and rear parking sensors. Since the vehicle doesn't emit an engine sound, the vehicle comes with an integrated Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), which generates a virtual engine sound when you're driving under 12 mph. This sound alerts pedestrians of your approaching vehicle. It doesn't operate if the vehicle isn't moving.
