<p>The three trim levels also have three different engines. With the base model, you'll find a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 118 pound-feet of torque and 130 horsepower. This engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. With the Plus trim, a more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard, producing 150 pound-feet of torque and 161 horsepower. It works with a six-speed automatic transmission. </p><p>The most powerful engine is in the Exclaim, which is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit. This engine puts out 195 pound-feet of torque and 201 horsepower. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission comes with this engine.</p>

All three 2018 Soul options come with front-wheel drive. The fuel economy estimates vary, based on the engine and transmission. With the base trim, EPA estimates come in at 24 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined. The Plus trim estimates are 25 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined. Choose the Exclaim and the EPA estimates are 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, for a combined estimate of 28 mpg.

<p>The base trim level comes with interior features like a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio, a USB port, and Bluetooth connectivity; a height-adjustable driver's seat; and 60/40-split folding rear seats. An optional package adds Kia's Uvo infotainment system, a 7-inch touch screen, automatic climate control, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. With the Plus trim, these features come standard, along with nicer cloth upholstery, a cargo cover, selectable driving modes, and a rear center armrest.</p><p>The Exclaim trim adds cloth and leather upholstery, nicer interior trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and keyless ignition. Optional upgrades include a premium Harman Kardon sound system; a two-tone roof treatment; navigation; a larger 8-inch touch screen; heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats; heated rear seats; a heated steering wheel; and leather upholstery.</p>

The upper two trim levels come standard with a rearview camera, which is available as an option on the base trim. An optional suite of safety features is available as well, which comes with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.
