Trim Levels

The 2018 Kia Sorento is available in five trim levels: L, LX, EX, SX, and SX Limited. The base L trim includes exterior features like heated side mirrors with integrated LED turn signal indicators, privacy glass, automatic projector beam headlights, and a rear spoiler. Stepping up to the LX comes with roof rails and noise-reducing windshield glass, while the midlevel EX offers power-folding side mirrors, a hands-free liftgate, 18-inch wheels, and keyless entry and ignition.

The SX adds sporty extras, including LED running lights, automatic windshield wipers, 19-inch steel wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and upgraded exterior trim. With the top SX Limited trim, you'll get 19-inch chrome-clad wheels, auto-leveling lights, LED fog lights, and chrome exterior elements.

Engine
The lower two trim levels come equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 178 pound-feet of torque and 185 horsepower. Choosing the EX replaces that unit with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which makes 260 pound-feet of torque and 240 horsepower. Both SX trim levels offer a more powerful 3.3-liter V-6 engine, rating at 252 pound-feet of torque and 290 horsepower. All three engine options pair with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
Front-wheel drive is standard on all models of the 2018 Sorento, although the upper four trim levels are available with all-wheel drive as an option. With the base engine and front-wheel drive, the estimated fuel economy is 21 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. The V-6 engine estimates drop slightly to 18 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 20-21 mpg combined, depending on whether you choose front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The turbocharged engine's estimates are 19-20 mpg in the city, 25-27 mpg on the highway, and 22-23 mpg combined.
Interior

With the V-6 engine comes a standard third row of seating, which takes the capacity up to seven. The third row is also an option on the LX trim level with front-wheel drive. Within the cabin of the base trim, you'll find a height-adjustable driver's seat, selectable driving modes, a six-speaker sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio. The LX tacks on two extra USB ports, and optional add-ons include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a 7-inch touch screen.

Those optional features come standard on the EX, along with a power-adjustable passenger seat, second-row sunshades, leather upholstery, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Choose the SX for a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, driver's seat memory settings, navigation, and an 8-inch touch screen. The top SX Limited boasts a wood-trim steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats.
