Trim Levels
Technically considered a hatchback, the 2019 Kia Stinger blends a comfortable ride with striking performance. Bearing some resemblance to the high-style Italian vehicles, this luxury car has a short overhang and long hood to give it sleek proportions. Its overall length of 190.2 inches and a 114.4-inch wheelbase make it longer than other sport sedans. There are five trims available with this vehicle: the base 2.0L, Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2. The 2.0L trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels and push-button start, while the Premium trim adds a sunroof and dual-lens LED headlights. The GT trim features several sporty upgrades, including black-chrome exterior accents and 19-inch GT-style wheels with summer tires. The GT1 adds auto-dimming side mirrors and high-beam assist. Finally, the GT2 trim adds a smart power trunk and dynamic low-beam assist, which increases visibility around corners.
Engine
The 2019 Kia Stinger offers two engine options. Found on the 2.0L and Premium trims, is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The second option, standard on all GT trims, is a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 that churns out an impressive 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Both engines provide plenty of power, but the V-6 can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 167 mph. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all trims offer all-wheel drive as an upgrade.
Performance
With the base engine and rear-wheel drive, the 2019 Kia Stinger gets 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. If you have the Stinger with the turbocharged V-6 engine, you will get 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
Interior
Seating five people comfortably, the 2019 Kia Stinger doesn't skimp on interior quality. Standard features include leather seats, heated power-adjustable front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. When it comes to technology, the Stinger comes standard with the UVO infotainment system, a 7- or 8-inch touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, satellite radio, and two USB ports. With the base trim, you can opt for the Sun and Sound package, which includes a 15-speaker Harman Kardon premium stereo and larger 8-inch touch-screen display with navigation (standard on the Premium, GT1, and GT2 trims). The Stinger also features 23.3 cubic feet of space, which means that it has one of the biggest trunk spaces in its class. If you fold down the rear seats, that space increases to 40.9 cubic feet.
Safety Features
The 2019 Kia Stinger comes standard with blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, lane-change alert, and rear cross-traffic alert. Other driver-assistance features available include forward-collision warning with emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a surround-view camera, and a driver-attention monitor.
